RICS Homebuyers Survey and Valuation

This is a survey carried out to a standard format set out by the RICS and is suitable for properties of conventional construction, built within the last 150 years and which are in reasonable condition.

The HBSV is a concise report that does not detail every aspect of the property and only focuses on urgent matters requiring attention.

The HBSV is not suitable for properties requiring renovation or if you're planning major alterations nor it is suitable for historic or unusual properties.

The HBVS has just been revamped by RICS the new report has a simple method for grading the conditions or various aspects of a property. A HBVS can be carried out in conjunction with a mortgage valuation.
